Transformation In Action

Matthew 4:18-22 (NIV84) 18As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 20At once they left their nets and followed him. 21Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Growing Deeper Together (Group Discussion Questions)

-Have you responded to Jesus’ invitation to come to him? If not, what’s holding you back? Meet us in the Lounge after service to talk about it. We’d love to share what it’s meant in our lives and to pray with you about it.

-How are you following after Jesus? Are you still in the boat deciding about maybe getting out? Are you pulling up your nets so you can get moving? Are you standing on the shore, not sure what to do next? Following hard after Jesus? Feeling left behind? Wherever you are, he’s loving you toward that next step! Let us know how we can help you and pray for you – drop us a note on your Connection Card.

-This study of how God transforms us has addressed many areas of our lives. In what key area has he shown you that he wants to make you into something new? What steps are you taking to align with his plan and make the good changes he’s showing you? Who will you partner with for prayer and accountability?

-Is there something that has drawn you away from being a “fisher of men”? Some of us are intimidated by the idea and haven’t yet discovered the simplicity of telling our story about life with God. As you head out to the Ministry Fair, consider how you can share the love that Jesus has shown you with others. Now that you know his love, what will you do with it?
