My child was just diagnosed with Autism. Where do I go for support?

First, go to God. He goes before you and knows exactly what you need. Lay it at His feet and know that he cares deeply about you and your child. Second, find support groups. We have many families here at NorthPointe who would love to walk with you through this. Please reach out to us and we can connect you. There are also support groups you can find in our area or on social media. It’s helpful to be around other families who understand what you are going through. Finally, contact local organizations like Central Valley Regional Center and Exceptional Parents Unlimited to help you access support and resources. Today, there are so many resources for families right at our fingertips. This is new territory for you but try to take things one day at a time. There will be new roads to navigate and new systems to learn but just remember, you are not alone in this.
