What does the Bible say about disabilities?

People with different abilities and needs are mentioned all throughout the Bible. In fact, “heroes” of the Bible often had some type of challenge they had to deal with. This clearly demonstrates that people with disabilities are not excluded from God’s mission, God’s kingdom, or living a life of faith. As King David wrote, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body…” (Psalm 139:13-16).”, God created us all perfectly and for a purpose. During Jesus’ time here on earth, he spent a great deal of time ministering to, caring for, and interacting with people with disabilities. He treated them with as much love and compassion as he did everyone, and we should do the same.
