I would like to welcome you to the global missions site. I am excited that you are here to see how NorthPointe is joining God in what he is doing on a global perspective and how you can be apart of it! Take a look around and view the options for global service and feel free to contact me with any questions.
When people think about serving globally they are faced with both motivating and challenging thoughts. One of those thoughts might be “What do I have to offer to someone who is in need or hurting half way around the world?” I want to encourage you by sharing a thought from Dangerous Surrender by Kay Warren:
“Of all the gifts God could have given us, he gave the greatest one-he gave himself. Now he expects us to do the same for others. As followers of Jesus, you and I are containers of God. We hold him within the fragile clay jars of our bodies. Accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord means that he comes to live within me, So I don’t offer a new and improved me I offer him. When I enter a room or any situation I bring him with me because he lives inside of me. I just don’t bring myself; I bring the God of the universe! In and of myself, I don’t have much to offer another person, but when I bring God, I’ve brought the one thing they need the most…. Jesus’ life was an explanation of God. For us as Christ followers, this is our prime task as well- to make the invisible God visible to a world that doesn’t yet recognize him. We have an opportunity to be with another person in their need, thus “explaining” God. We are to live incarnationally-God with us, God in us.” pgs. 137-139
No matter where you chose to go you will have a list of tasks to complete and jobs to be done. Some will be familiar and easy others will be new and challenging. But the most important thing that you will offer is yourself! Each of us has a story of how we have seen God save us, heal us and transform our lives for the better. Will you consider joining me in sharing with the world the HOPE that is only found knowing JESUS!
