Are You Ready to Be Baptized?

Baptism doesn’t make you a believer, it shows that you already are one! Baptism doesn’t save you, only your faith in Christ does that. Like a wedding ring, baptism is the outward symbol of the commitment you’ve made in your heart. If you’ve made the decision to believe in Christ and would like to be baptized this weekend, stop by the Baptism Info table on the patio.

The one requirement for baptism is belief in Christ! We don’t baptize children until they’re old enough to understand and believe.

Because the word “baptism” (“Baptizo” in Greek N.T.) means to “plunge, dip, or submerge,” we believe this is the way Jesus was baptized and commanded baptism to be done. Baptism in this way “acts out” in a powerful way the spiritual meaning of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Other forms of baptism in use today developed due to changes in theology centuries after the New Testament was written.
