The Slums
Today we visited the slums. These pictures can in no way reflect what we experienced. Right in the middle was a school. These kids are considered lucky to be able to go (there were many more outside who were not welcomed in). They loved to be touched and have their picture taken.

Lunch @ Doddy’s
It was a new experience. In 2007 we didn’t get the opportunity to really get to know our host. I’ve mentioned him before. His name is Doddy Sudarsan Murty. He said, “You come to my house, meet my family, we will eat”.

Rono’s Day of Serving
The first thing you do is roll up your pant legs. Not because an unmerciful sun bears down on you in Calcutta in June. It’s because you are soon sloshing in water while working at Premdan, the Mother Teresa center for the elderly, near one of the Calcutta’s endless slums. My shift was Monday.
