Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you” says the Lord “they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”. (NLT) Life Recovery Bible

Many of us know this scripture. We know God loves us and that He wants good things for us. The interesting thing to me is these words were spoken to God’s people while they were in captivity and directly after He says to them “Build homes and plan to stay…” In other words; you’re going to be here a while!

I think what we can draw from this is that God expects us to live life right where we are, and, He wants us to continue to look to Him for guidance and hope while we do it. He does have a future for us. By the way, have you read the following two verses?

“In those days when you pray I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me.” Jer 29:12-13 (NLT) Life Recovery Bible

God bless you.        Mike N

This is absolutely true Mike..God does have plans for each of us…he is expecting us to sit and wait calmly & quietly while he decides what he has in the works for our futures…

We need to just sit and wait with patience for him to guide us…kind of playing Hide and Go seek with God…Hey that’s cool !

    Blessings all,

    Carol

Sometimes I forget that the job God has for me is to offer a cup of water. The impact of a cup of water in God’s hands stretches my understanding. I am grateful when He blesses me with a glimpse of the impact of that cup of water.

Of course, when my plans for myself do not fit into God’s plans for me, is when I get into trouble and experience any of the following red flags: frustration, fear, anger, discouragement, discontentment, bitterness, and resentment.

When I experience those symptoms, my objective is to stop, seek the Lord in Prayer and His Word, praying only for “knowledge of His will for [me] and the Power to carry it out.” Even the willingness to seek God is a gift of Him!

Even in the worst of times, like Jonah, David, Job, and many others before me, I get renewed vision of God’s will for me and see how His plans for me are much superior to my own.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NIV)
