The CR Blog

Hello All!

Welcome to the new CR blog! I am so glad you checked in! I plan to be posting new comments to this blog every Tuesday morning as I can think of nothing better than connecting with you to start my work week. Sometimes I will be commenting on the weekend sermon and other times I will simply be sharing whatever God has laid on my heart. I will check back for your comments later in the week. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say!

Because I am the Celebrate Recovery Pastor here at NorthPointe my posts will of course tend to have a “recovery slant” to them, but don’t let the word recovery scare you. According to Joe Dallas a Christian counselor and author, the definition of the word recovery in the Christian world is “reclaiming creative intent”. In other words the purpose of the recovery process is to “reclaim” the life that God intended for us in the first place.

So, here’s a quick question for you, what kind of future do you think God has for you and how do you think He expects you to get there?

The kind of future God has planned for me is one “not to harm me but to prosper me”……and to help build character; that’s the part that usually makes me a little nervous.
The way I think He expects me to get there is to walk through the door of opportunity. I first have to look for that opportunity and then walk towards it, He will meet me there!

I like this blog idea! I will look forward to it every week.

I think the future God has for me is one of leadership, excitement, challenge, and growth. I think He expects me to get there through Him because He really spoke to me at the CR Summit. I felt peace and confirmation that I am in the right place and doing the right things. The questions on my heart were answered, and doubts put to rest, through people I met and the workshops I attended. God also worked powerfully through the amazing group of people I went with. Thanks to all of you for being willing to be transparent.

I think the future God has planned for me is…one of PEACE, and SALVATION. When you spoke this evening Mike, which was a very to the heart sermon…we really have to think of what needs to be cleaned out and what and when the words come out of our mouths.

I have done some serious thinking about my relationship with God and our family…He wants us to openly allow him into our lives everyday and all day…not just leave him at the front door…I am really excited about the way God has spoken to me in the past few weeks…I am looking forward to becoming to being a Leader within NP Children Ministry…to be able to be a friend and a teacher to others and their children. Until next week…Blessings… Carol

Thank you for the outstanding message this week on “Harnessing the power of words.” The reminder of how powerful words are, whether they be encouraging words or harmful words, is something that we constantly need to be reminded of.
We both thank you for giving us positive and useful ways to lift others up with our kind words.
    Great job!

i think that my future with God is just that, my present & future is with God, since giving my life to God I have found that as long as I continue to live by his word, my life will grow stonger and stonger. There is no great mystery, it really is rather simple, living and loving God. The hard part is living in this chaotic world. I sometime wish I could live in a bubble, then all of the pain of the world would not reach me, but I don’t so I pray each day, give thanks each day, and humble myself to the point that I have to remember that I have to keep it simple. That my life in this world is only but the stepping stone to my life with God. God bless you and all of those who have touched me at NP. I am thankful that you are all there.

The future God has in store for me is one of blessings, challenges, and opportunities for growth toward more Christ-likeness. How I am to get there? Through following Him through every door He opens for me whether I desire to walk through or not…..in faith I know there are learning moments alongs the way! Can’t wait to get where He is leading me!

God is Awesome and he is in charge! I am looking for his quidence in every aspect of my life and looking forward to watching how he fixes all my Character Defects from here on out expecially my Tongue!!
What comes out of us is way more harmful than what goes in us. Together working on both with God will help us be what he has made us for a person who brings Glory to God daily….I look towards his Glory shining in my life no matter what is going on Good or Bad! God doesn’t create junk so as long as I stay listening and obeying him I am on the right track. Blessings to all.
