PICTURES!!
I received an update from the team this morning and was excited to find pictures. Enjoy!
I wish I could send more, these don’t really do the trip justice but maybe it will give you a small taste of what it’s been like.
The pictures in order: 1. Us unloading from our hopper flight into the mara. 2. We haven’t even been on safari yet but we still see wildlife. This is a zebra crossing on the way to Emmanuel’s house. 3. Emmanuel’s house where we are staying. 4. Emily and Jordan in a classroom at Emmanuel’s school. We have spend 2 half days helping out in classrooms and we will go again today. 5. Handing out bibles to elementary school children. We have now handed them out to 10 schools, totalling around 2200 students. 6. Pastor Peter and the Maasai dancers perform at church. They have also been dressing like this and performing at every open air market where we hold crusades and I preach. 7. The team performs a song for the crowds. 8. Kyle and Cameron preach to over 1,000 students about the feeding of the 5,000. 9. The front of the school, we are working on constructing a ramp and stairs to get up to the front. Progress is being made.
The trip is flying by so fast! Today we will hold a youth conference
in the afternoon on purity and living out 1 timothy 4:12. We will be
handing out bracelets to students who make a commitment to stay pure
as a symbol of their commitment to the Lord. Tomorrow is church
again, Monday we will be on safari and Tuesday we will be having a
pastors banquet at Emmanuel’s house. Emmanuel is planning on having
hundreds of people show up. They will dress us all full Maasai with
the paint and clothing. They are killing a whole bull for the
festivities. Then Wednesday we head back to Nairobi for half a day
and then catch our flight home. It’s going by so fast!
Blessings,
Kenya team

07/12/2009…the pictures sent and captions fill me up!!! (I am right there with Jean…everytime I read your messages Daniel, and now the pics, “I cry!!!” with joy!!) The children learning in their classroom, along with Jordan and Emily, is a picture to cherish!!! (I, too, noticed your cute tennis shoes, Em, because one of the children’s eyes are admiring them!!) I am ever-amazed at the learning going on in this village…American English right along with their native language, and God’s LOVE.
Love and blessings to you all! (We are so excited to see you, Tyler, and the team!!) Continually praying for you all to be overflowing with constant hope, joy, and peace by the power of the Holy Spirit!! (Rom. 15:13)

07/12/2009These picture are amazing…and so are all of you! Thank you so much for sending them. I am forwarding them to tons of people who have been praying for you. It bring them great joy! Also, a mom from a teen from another church who is going to Malawe at the end of this month e-mailed me for prayer as she was having some hesitations. So I have been sending her your posts and telling her Whitney’s story and you have no idea how much you have blessed her family and given her great peace about her son’s trip. The work the Lord does through you is far reaching. Much love and we can’t wait to give you hugs at home.
